GRANTS AVAILABLE FOR ARTISTS, ORGANIZATIONS, SCHOOLS

Colorado Council on the Arts

The Colorado Council on the Arts announces that the new guidelines for the 2008-09 Grants to Artists and Organizations (GAO) are now available on CCA's website. There are also guidelines for the new Success through Art (StART Schools) grants for schools and school districts that want to use the arts as a strategy for student success. The deadline for both categories is March 13, 2008. The online application will be available on January 4, 2008. Only online submissions will be accepted.

Colorado artists, nonprofit organizations and government agencies may submit Grants to Artists and Organizations proposals.

In addition to addressing the Council's goals, applicants must demonstrate artistic excellence, community involvement and benefit and implementation capacity. A key requirement of the GAO program is that applicants must have matching funding support from local, regional or national sources.

To assist applicants, CCA will have extensive application tools available on its web site. www.coloarts.state.co.us/grants/apply.
For general information on the Grants to Artists and Organization contact coloarts@state.co.us. For questions specific to the new StArts Schools program, contact Sheila Sears, Arts Education Consultant at Sheila.Sears@state.co.us
